Henry Man
2017-20 McLaren range recalled
The McLaren 540C is a discontinued entry point into McLaren's Sports Series, created to make the brand's carbon-fibre supercar formula more accessible. It used a twin-turbocharged V8 and rear-wheel drive, delivering the speed and precision expected from Woking in a slightly less extreme package than higher-output models. In Australia it appealed to buyers wanting a usable exotic with genuine track-capable engineering, but without the full intensity or price of McLaren's flagship cars. The 540C was still a serious performance car, with lightweight construction and sharp responses central to its character. It remains a compelling gateway into modern McLaren ownership.
