McLaren Automotive Limited has recalled 2017-20 McLaren 720S Coupe and 720S Spider, Senna, 570GT, and GT models to curtail a fire risk.

According to the carmaker, the noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) foam pad sitting beneath the fuel tank can trap moisture, which can cause corrosion to the surface of the fuel tank over time.

If the fuel tank’s surface is corroded, it may allow fuel vapour or liquid to leak from the fuel tank. This could increase the risk of a fire, posing a risk of injury to vehicle occupants, bystanders, or damage to property.
