The Mazda MX-30 is a discontinued compact SUV that gave Mazda an unconventional entry into electrified motoring. It was offered with distinctive rear-hinged doors, a coupe-like cabin layout and powertrain options that included electric technology in some markets. In Australia it appealed to buyers who wanted something different from a conventional small SUV, with a focus on design, sustainability themes and urban use. The MX-30 was never the most practical Mazda SUV, especially for families needing rear-seat access and cargo space. It is no longer sold new, but remains interesting for shoppers drawn to its unusual design and city-friendly character.
