The Cupra Born was a compact electric hatchback and Cupra’s first EV, aimed at buyers wanting a sportier alternative to more conventional small electric cars. It paired a low-slung five-door body with rear-wheel-drive character, instant electric response and city-friendly dimensions, making it well suited to urban commuting while still offering a more engaging feel on tighter roads. Its positioning in Australia was distinctive: a small, rear-drive electric hatch with European styling and a driver-focused attitude. The Born is no longer on sale locally, and Cupra Australia has confirmed there are no plans to reintroduce the facelifted version in the foreseeable future. Buyers interested in a new Cupra EV will instead need to look to the brand’s newer electric models as they arrive.
