Volkswagen has recalled 1799 examples of its 2021 Polo and T-Cross models due to a software issue with the seatbelt warning system.

“Due to a software fault, the visual and acoustic seat belt warning system may not operate as intended,” the recall notice says.

“If the driver is not made aware of an unfastened seatbelt, there is an increased risk of injury or death if the vehicle is involved in an accident.”

  • A total of 1799 vehicles are included in the recall
