Toyota Australia is once again welcoming orders for its LandCruiser 70 Series range, but several variants of the long-running off-roader lineup remain unavailable.
The company first hit pause on 76 Series GXL Wagon automatic orders in July last year, citing customer frustration due to long wait times caused by supply constraints.
Just months later, the popular model line was then pulled from the market completely in order for Toyota to carry out the necessary upgrades to meet new Euro 6 ‘Stage C’ emissions rules for heavy-duty vehicles.
The move to introduce AdBlue – an exhaust additive used in diesel vehicles to reduce tailpipe nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions – across the range has now been completed, allowing for deliveries of new vehicles to resume.

As such, customers are now able to order the full range of automatic versions of the 76 Series wagon, 78 Series Troop Carrier and 79 Series pickup body styles.
However, manual versions of the 78 Series, 79 Series double-cab/chassis, and 76 Series GXL wagon are still off sale 'for the time being'.
The addition of a 20-litre AdBlue tank is one of two changes for model year 2026 (MY26), with 78 Series Troop Carrier grades seeing a reduction in fuel tank capacity from 180 litres to 130L to match other 70 Series variants.
Toyota's compliance work hasn't impacted the outputs of the LC70's 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, which continues to produce 150kW and 500Nm when paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The AdBlue refuelling port is located above the front left fender with a lockable lid. Single-cab/chassis variants feature a filling port on the left side of the vehicle between the cab and rear wheels.

LandCruiser 70 Series sales are down by 82 per cent this year to the end of May, despite Toyota ordering additional supply to meet demand for all three models throughout the pause.
The Toyota Coaster bus is also currently receiving upgrades to meet Euro 6 Stage C emissions requirements, with production for Australia expected to resume early next year.
Regulations introduced in 2024 require newly introduced models sold in Australia with a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of more than 3500kg to comply with Euro 6 Stage C tailpipe emissions regulations.
From November 1, 2025, the law (ADR 80/04) was extended to include all existing applicable vehicles sold, not just newly introduced models.
