Bentley has unveiled a new ultra-luxury flagship version of its Bentayga Extended Wheelbase (EWB) which is available with a range of sustainable materials.

The Bentley Bentayga EWB Mulliner can be identified with its ‘Double Diamond’ front grille, unique 22-inch alloy wheels with self-levelling wheel badges, and two-tone mirror caps.

UPDATE, 22/08/2023 – A Bentley Australia spokesperson has confirmed the Bentayga EWB Mulliner will arrive in Australia in the second quarter of 2024, priced from $611,200 before on-road costs.

The British luxury carmaker says the Bentayga EWB Mulliner can also be ordered with the Mulliner Blackline specification from launch as well, which adds a range of gloss black elements including 22-inch gloss black wheels.

At this stage it’s unclear if or when the Bentayga EWB Mulliner will be coming to Australia. We’ve reached out to Bentley Australia and will update this story when we hear back.

Inside the Bentayga EWB Mulliner can be hand with a four-seat or “4+1” seating configuration. Bentley claims there are nearly 4000 tri-tone interior colour combinations.

One new option is olive tan leather that’s claimed to be used “extensively” throughout the cabin.

This leather is tanned using an “organic by-product” of the olive oil industry, derived from waste water extracted during the olive pressing procedure.

Bentley claims this technique requires less water than a conventional tanning process. It also says the resulting “organic leather” is “incredibly soft”.

Like all coachbuilt Mulliner models, the Bentayga EWB Mulliner comes with deep pile overmats made from 100 per cent pure wool. The cabin carpet is now also made from 100 per cent recycled nylon.

Other interior features the Bentayga EWB Mulliner receives include ambient interior lighting, a Mulliner clock, as well as 22-way adjustable seats with an auto climate-sensing system and postural adjustment technology.

As standard the Bentayga EWB Mulliner is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-scroll turbocharged V8 petrol engine producing 405kW of power and 770Nm of torque.

Bentley claims the Bentayga EWB Mulliner can do the 0-100km/h sprint in 4.6 seconds, and flat out you’ll be doing 290km/h.

The Bentayga EWB Mulliner comes with the company’s Bentley Dynamic Ride system that includes a 48V active anti-roll system, and three-chamber air springs.

Bentley claims the Bentayga EWB has up to 27 per cent lower secondary ride vibration “than its competitors”. It’s unclear what Bentley used as the competitor vehicles.

The Bentayga EWB Mulliner also comes with an electronic all-wheel steering system that at speeds under 60km/h turns the rear wheels at up to 4.8 degrees in the opposite direction to the front wheels. This is claimed to increase agility and reduce the turning circle.

At speeds above 60km/h, on the other hand, the Bentayga EWB Mulliner’s all-wheel steering wheel makes small adjustments to the rear wheels in tandem with the steering inputs from the driver to the front wheels. This is claimed to increase high-speed stability.
