Mazda is recalling over 70,000 examples of its first-generation 3 sedan and hatch due to the potential for flying debris.
“The plastic horn pad logo may become brittle and fracture during an airbag deployment,” the company says in its recall notice.
“In the event of an airbag deployment, the plastic fragments of the shattered logo may propel into the vehicle and hit vehicle occupants, causing serious injury.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact a Mazda dealer to organise a free replacement of the horn cover.
If you have any further questions, you can contact Mazda Customer Support on 1800 034 411.
