This driver’s heart may have been in the right place, but his blood-alcohol level sure wasn’t.
A 50-year-old motorist in Qualicum Beach, in the Canadian province of British Columbia, has started the new year off badly, after he had his licence suspended and his vehicle impounded for driving under the influence of alcohol.
He might have gotten away with it too, had he not called the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
On New Year’s Eve, the motorist blocked another motorist he allegedly suspected of driving while intoxicated, and called Oceanside RCMP on them.

But when police arrived, they allegedly noticed the smell of alcohol on the caller’s breath and administered a roadside alcohol screening test, which he failed.
He received an immediate 90-day licence suspension and had his vehicle impounded for 30 days.
As for the motorist he claimed was under the influence, police allege he was sober and simply having difficulty driving in the dark.
