Deliveries of the 2026 Cupra Leon VZx Sportstourer will begin almost a year after the performance wagon was confirmed for Australia.
Cupra has announced the longroof Leon VZx is set to arrive in September 2026, with pricing starting from $67,490 before on-road costs.
Joining the Leon VZe Sportstourer performance plug-in hybrid, the VZx uses the same powertrain from the related Volkswagen Golf R but with the practicality of a wagon body.

The 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine in the VZx Sportstourer sends 245kW of power and 420Nm of torque to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
It has a claimed 0-100km/h time of 4.8 seconds.
Cupra has confirmed the Leon VZx Sportstourer will come with torque vectoring technology – sending up to 50 per cent of power to the rear axle, and with 100 per cent of that able to be sent to either of the rear wheels.

The result is significantly improved cornering and exit speeds. The system is also seen on the latest Volkswagen Golf R and Audi S3, which are priced from $71,990 and $78,800 before on-road costs, respectively.
However, with the rear seats in place, the Leon VZx Sportstourer offers 620 litres of boot space – or roughly the same as five-seater versions of the Hyundai Tucson and Mercedes-Benz GLE.
The related Skoda Octavia RS wagon has around 20 litres more boot space than the Leon Sportstourer – and is cheaper, at $64,990 drive-away – but produces just 195kW and 370Nm, and is front-wheel drive-only.

Like the Leon VZe, the Sportstourer VZx is available to order with Cupra’s optional Extreme Pack, which adds upgraded Akebono brakes, matrix LED headlights with graphic projection, and special sports bucket seats from Sabelt for the driver and front passenger.
The Extreme Pack will cost an additional $7600, while a panoramic sunroof is available to be optioned for an extra $2000. Matte paint is also on offer for $2650.
Details and ordering information on the 2026 Cupra Leon Sportstourer VZx are available on the Cupra Australia website.
