During these months of isolation, the concept of time has become almost meaningless for some of us. So, it might surprise you to learn it’s been 12 months since Genesis touched down in Australia.

To celebrate its anniversary and clear some stock, the Korean luxury brand is offering up to 21 per cent off the manufacturer’s list price (MLP) off G70 and G80 sedans currently in stock.

The smallest discount is 15 per cent off the retail price.

Percentage-wise, the biggest savings can be found on the base models of both the G70 and G80, as well as the G70 2.0T Ultimate.

If you haven’t had a chance to get to the Genesis studio in Sydney to check out one of its cars, you can request for one to be delivered to you so that you can test drive it or hold onto it for a weekend.

If you go ahead and buy one, Genesis will also pick up and return your vehicle from servicing appointments and lend you a courtesy vehicle. This isn’t exclusive to sales vehicles but is instead part of the standard Genesis after-sales package, along with five years’ complimentary servicing and 24/7 roadside assistance and a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.

Hyundai’s luxury brand has only sold 42 cars so far this year which, while fractionally more than during the same period last year, puts it behind even Bentley.

It’s still selling cars out of only one dealership nationwide, however, as the planned Brisbane and Melbourne locations have yet to open.

The additional dealers should help increase volume, though the brand has said from the outset it’s not focused on volume.

Genesis should get a significant shot in the arm from the introduction of its first SUVs, the GV70 and GV80. The latter is slated to launch this year.

    There’s also an all-new G80 sedan arriving soon, plus a refreshed G70.
