The BYD Sealion 7 may be one of Australia’s best-selling electric vehicles (EVs), but that doesn’t mean you can’t get a good deal on one.
BYD Australia has announced a $4000 cashback deal on the entry-level Sealion 7 Premium, available for vehicles ordered between December 1-14, 2025, provided you take delivery by December 31.
Unlike some deals, you can’t have this cashback applied as a discount towards the vehicle’s purchase price, which is $54,990 before on-road costs.

Instead, if you buy a Sealion 7 Premium, you’ll get the payment after you take delivery of it. The amount can’t be exchanged for products, accessories or service plans, or saved for later, either.
The offer doesn’t apply for fleet, government or rental agency purchases, and demonstrator vehicles are also excluded. The offer also can’t be combined with any others.
The Sealion 7 is now Australia’s second best-selling EV, behind the rival Tesla Model Y. To the end of November, BYD has delivered 10,864 examples of the mid-size electric SUV which it launched here early this year; Tesla, in contrast, has delivered 20,241 Model Ys.
The BYD is offered in both single-motor rear-wheel drive Premium and dual-motor all-wheel drive Performance variants.

The Premium features an 82.56kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery and a 230kW/380Nm electric motor, good for 482km of range under the WLTP cycle and a claimed 0-100km/h time of 6.7 seconds.
