Bentley has released the first teaser of its inaugural electric vehicle (EV), confirming it will be called the Torcal and be unveiled in London on September 23, 2026.
Previously referred to only as an 'urban SUV', Bentley revealed a rear teaser image of the vehicle as it confirmed both its official name and reveal date. The Torcal will become the brand's fourth model line and is expected to arrive in showrooms in 2027.
The Torcal is named after the rocky landscape of El Torcal in Andalusia, Spain, following the Bentayga, Bacalar and Batur in taking inspiration from natural landmarks.

Bentley says the name is also a nod to the Latin word torquere, meaning 'to twist', from which the word 'torque' is derived.
The Torcal – not yet confirmed for Australia – will join the Continental GT coupe, Flying Spur sedan and Bentayga SUV in Bentley showrooms.
It will sit below the Bentayga and, while only a single teaser image has been released, is expected to be the production version of the EXP 15 concept unveiled last year.
Described by Bentley as a 'high-riding sedan', the 5.4-metre-long concept was "conceived as having a fully electric, all-wheel drive powertrain with a long range and recharging speeds".

It was also intended to preview the brand's future design direction, with the Torcal teaser showing slim horizontal tail-lights and a central illuminated shield motif similar to the EXP 15.
Up front, the EXP 15 featured vertical LED headlights designed to emphasise the vehicle's width, while incorporating heritage-inspired elements such as its long 'endless bonnet', reinterpreted for an electric powertrain.
The production Torcal is expected to tone down some of the concept's more dramatic features, including its asymmetric doors and three-seat layout.
Instead, it's expected to adopt a more conventional five-door, five-seat configuration, likely dropping the concept's swivelling seats.

While Bentley has yet to announce powertrain details, the Torcal is expected to share its platform and electrical architecture with the Porsche Cayenne Electric, with both brands part of the broader Volkswagen Group.
The Cayenne Electric is due in Australian showrooms this year, priced from $167,700 before on-road costs.
Available in SUV and Coupe body styles and based on an 800-volt electrical architecture, entry-level models produce 300kW and 835Nm, paired with a 113kWh battery delivering a claimed 542km WLTP driving range.
The flagship Cayenne Turbo Electric develops 850kW and 1500Nm, with a claimed 0-100km/h time of 2.5 seconds and 537km WLTP range.

Bentley is one of several automakers to have scaled back its EV ambitions, abandoning its previous goal of becoming an EV-only brand by 2030 in favour of retaining hybrid models.
It could also draw on another Volkswagen Group brand for high-performance plug-in hybrid technology, with Lamborghini – which has likewise delayed its EV ambitions – offering V8 and V12 PHEVs in the Temerario and Revuelto, as well as a V8 PHEV in the Urus SE SUV.
In 2025, Bentley confirmed hybrid versions of the Bentayga, Continental GT and Flying Spur would continue beyond 2030 rather than transitioning to an EV-only lineup.
