Audi wants to make its owners “the envy of the Australian premium market” with service and warranty packs for cars up to eight years old.

The new Audi Advantage program allows owners to extend their capped-price servicing, warranty, and roadside assistance beyond the current five-year offering. The packages are transferrable between owners.

The packages allow new Audi buyers to extend their warranty from five- to nine years at the time of purchase.

The packages can also be applied to any current Audi (except e-tron models) younger than eight years old, that has travelled less than 120,000km, and has a full service history.

Vehicles will also need to pass a 115-point inspection at an Audi service centre before being approved.

In other words, if you were to buy a 2014 RS4 with 120,000km on the clock that passes Audi’s inspection, purchasing the package would provide a warranty and cover servicing costs for two years from the time of purchase, or until the car hits 150,000km.

Fellow Volkswagen Group member Skoda offers a similar option for used-car buyers.

“Not only did we want to provide a program that gives our owners complete confidence in their vehicle for an extended period of time, but one that also secures the value of their investment, should they decide to trade-up to a newer model in the future,” said outgoing Audi Australia director, Paul Sansom.

The cost of a two-year package for the Audi range is listed at the end of this story.

Along with the new service and warranty packs, Audi says all its Approved Plus used cars now feature two years of servicing, warranty, and roadside assist as a minimum.

That can be extended at the time of purchase with back-to-back Advantage packages, which can extend that coverage out to 10 years.

“We believe the Audi Approved :plus program is the most comprehensive certified pre-owned offer in the Australian market,” said Mr Sansom.

“At a time when the prices of pre-owned vehicles are as high as they have been right across the market, we believe the Audi Approved :plus program places our owners in the best possible position to maintain the value of their investment.”
