Ford Australia may not be willing to bring the electric F-150 Lightning pickup to local showrooms just yet, but that doesn’t mean you can’t buy one.
UPDATE, 18/9/24: AusEV has clarified pricing for the top-spec Lightning, which is priced from $184,900 before on-road costs rather than $209,900 as previously reported. It is sold only as a 2023 Model Year vehicle.
Our original story continues with relevant amendments.
Australian-owned AusEV has begun importing and converting the F-150 Lightning to right-hand drive, giving Ford fans a taste of the electric vehicle (EV) that’s officially forbidden fruit for Australia.
Two examples of the Ford F-150 Lightning are sold by AusEV: the tradie-focused Pro and the flagship F-150 Lightning.
They’re priced from $169,900 before on-road costs for the Pro and $184,900 before on-road costs for the more luxurious variant.
AusEV is also offering a $5000 discount for the range-topper if you order through CarExpert.
