LDV’s new people mover packs considerably more safety equipment and technology than its predecessor, plus a bolder and more modern look inside and out.

The 2023 LDV MIFA is arriving in Australian showrooms this month.

All models at launch feature a 2-2-3 seating format, though an eight-seat model will arrive early in 2023.

There’s a $9-10,000 difference between the three MIFA variants, called Mode, Executive and Luxe.

With prices ranging from $53,990 to $72,990 drive-away, the LDV MIFA is pricier than its Kia Carnival arch-rival, which holds over two-thirds of the people mover segment in Australia.

The Carnival, in petrol guise, is priced from $51,690 to $69,890 drive-away.

The MIFA is also pricier than the old G10 people mover, discontinued earlier this year, which started at $35,490 drive-away.

But where that model lacked any active safety equipment and featured only two airbags, the MIFA has a full suite of safety features including autonomous emergency braking (forward and reverse), blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and front, side and full-length curtain airbags.

The only engine is a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol four-cylinder with 160kW of power and 360Nm of torque, mated with an Aisin-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission.

The petrol-powered MIFA will soon be joined by an electric variant, the MIFA 9, due here before the end of this month.

It’ll use a 180kW/350Nm electric motor and a 90kWh battery, good for a claimed 440km on the WLTP test cycle.
