Pricing for the 2022 Audi S3 has been revealed ahead of a local arrival early in 2022.
The sportier A3 variant will be, as before, available in both five-door ‘Sportback’ and four-door sedan body styles, priced at $70,700 and $73,200 before on-roads, respectively.
That means prices are up by $6500 and $7400, respectively, compared with the previous-generation model. This includes the $800 increases announced in February.

The S3 was originally intended to launch in the second half of 2021. This marks yet another delay for the sporty hatch and sedan.
There’s extra equipment like standard matrix LED headlights, while the infotainment system has grown from 7.0 inches to 10.1 inches and gained wireless Apple CarPlay.
Under the bonnet, the new S3 twins have a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine rated at 228kW and 400Nm – and Australia will get to enjoy the full power output this around, rather than a detuned version.
That means outputs are up by 15kW and 20Nm over the last car.
Externally the S3 features more aggressive bumpers at both ends, prominent rhombus patterns for the grille and vents, a large rear diffuser, and four exhaust tips.
For those seeking even more power and visual aggression, the redesigned RS3 is due in the first half of 2022.

Engines
The 2022 Audi S3 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 228kW of power at 5450-6500rpm and 400Nm of torque at 2000-5450rpm.
It’s mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, and features automatic stop/start.
Audi claims a 0-100km/h time of 4.8 seconds for both body styles.
Fuel Economy
The 2022 Audi S3 uses 7.4L/100km on the combined cycle in Sportback guise and 7.3L/100km in the sedan.
It requires 95RON premium unleaded fuel.
Dimensions
The 2022 Audi S3 measures 4504mm long and 1415mm tall in sedan guise, and 4351mm long and 1438mm tall in the Sportback.
Both body styles ride a 2630mm wheelbase and measure 1816mm wide, or 1984mm including the mirrors.
Servicing and Warranty
Audi covers its vehicles with a three-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
The company is offering a five-year servicing plan, priced at $2580.
Safety
The 2022 Audi S3 doesn’t yet have an official ANCAP rating, though the front-wheel drive, New Zealand-market A3 has received a five-star rating.
That was based on an adult occupant protection score of 89 per cent, a child occupant protection score of 81 per cent, a vulnerable road user protection score of 68 per cent, and a safety assist score of 73 per cent.
