BMW i3

The BMW i3 name returns to Australia as an all-electric mid-size sedan, effectively serving as the battery-powered member of the 3 Series family. Unlike the earlier compact i3 city car, this new-generation model is positioned for buyers wanting a premium sports sedan feel with electric performance and usable long-distance range. The local lineup is set to open with two grades, including the i3 50 xDrive, which is expected to offer more than 900km of driving range. With its sedan body style and BMW’s traditional focus on driver engagement, the i3 is aimed at executive-car buyers, EV adopters and existing 3 Series shoppers looking to move away from petrol without giving up familiar proportions or a premium cabin. It will sit between upgraded petrol 3 Series variants in a simplified Australian range.
