When I received the car, I noticed the LED for the left indicator on the dash was slightly dimmer than the right. Much to my surprise, they replaced the entire instrument cluster under warranty.

During my 48,000km service, they noticed a small leak in both of my rear shock absorbers, and they replaced them both for free under warranty.

This one was even more surprising to me, as I take my wrangler off-road a fair bit and assumed, like tyres, they're a consumable part and up to the user to maintain. I was wrong, and I appreciate them covering that for me.

At around 60,000km, I noticed the VVT solenoid seals (rubber o-rings) were weeping a little bit of oil. It caused no issues whatsoever, but I mentioned it to them during a service, and it was covered free of charge.

I might be a unicorn case, but I found Jeep to be excellent to deal with.

Has your vehicle been serviced at least once since you took ownership?

    Yes

Servicing is at 12,000km intervals. I would recommend doing an oil change in between, though.

During capped price servicing ($399, first 5 services, 60,000km), I used the dealership in Bundoora. They were fantastic. No issues with services. Unfortunately, there aren't many Jeep dealerships, so it's probably going to be a long drive for you.

Overall, are you satisfied with your ownership experience so far?

    Yes

    So much character.

    So modifiable.

Fun to drive on and off road, especially without the roof.

Very few nannys, no beeps or bongs.

Switches, buttons and mechanical levers (handbrake, transfer case). It feels like a proper machine. You honestly don't even need the screen.

The infotainment screen is small, responsive and clear. I can't stand the laggy iPads jammed into every dash.

Reverse camera looks like it's 4k Ultra HD.

Second to none off-road capability, seriously.

Beautiful, you will stand in your garage, aimlessly staring at it.

I recommend this car to any off-road enthusiast. Or even if you just like to modify cars.

I plan on keeping this car forever, no joke. When the engine finally dies, I'll replace it, or maybe put a Hemi V8 in it.

Nicholas’s experience with the 2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon

This is an enthusiast's 4x4. It's a total weapon stock, but you'll get the most out of it through modifications. You can really make this car your own. No two Wranglers are the same.

The Wrangler is my daily driver. Even with a 2-inch lift with 34-inch muddies, it's very easy to drive. The steering is still like stock, light, but you get used to it quickly.

It's perfect for our family, wife and 2 kids. Fits our forward-facing and rear-facing child seats, but leaves very little space in the middle. Enough boot space for pram, recovery gear and shopping,

It feels bigger than it is, so it has a surprisingly good turning circle and is very easy to park. I turned off the parking sensors because with the camera, you don't feel like you need them.

It's thirsty 13.7-14L per 100km (91ron). With 209kw of power and only weighing 2t it's not a racecar but it's surprisingly quick. I timed 0-100km when it was stock and reliably got 8-8.5 seconds without brake hold.

The footwell is a little narrow due to it being designed as a left-hand drive. I found a comfortable spot for my left foot, so it didn't bother me much, but it's worth knowing.

I won't go into any more details, you can check out reviews for spes but wranglers have so many hidden features and easter eggs that you can learn through ownership and research.

After 3 years of ownership, I'm excited to drive it every single day. Even on my days off work, I'll find any excuse to take it somewhere. This car is literally my favourite material possession.

To conclude, here's some parting wisdom. Don't buy this car to be a mall crawler. Take it off-road, take the roof off. Beat the hell out of it, break it. Replace broken parts with better aftermarket parts. This car is designed to be your noble steed that will take you on any adventure you want to go on. It's meant to be enjoyed.
