Engine options for the MG5 include 1.5L in-line 4-cylinder (84kW/150Nm) and 1.5L in-line 4-cylinder turbo (119kW/250Nm). Available with automatic continuously variable with manual mode or 7-speed automatic dual clutch sequential trans (dct) transmissions. All variants feature front-wheel drive.
