Lotus may return to V8 power for the first time in over two decades
The British brand’s final combustion-powered model, the Emira, could ditch its V6 engine in favour of V8 power to meet Euro 7 emissions laws.

The new Lotus Emira is a sports car offered in a 2D Coupe body style. Available in Australia from $199,990 (MLRP, excl. on-roads) for the First Edition variant and topping out at $213,990 for the First Edition.
There is 1 variant of the Emira available in Australia and this generation went on sale in August of 2024.
Engine options include 2.0L turbo (268kW/430Nm) and 3.5L supercharger (298kW/420Nm). Available with 8-speed automatic, 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmissions. All variants feature rear-wheel drive.
The new 2024 Emira is offered with a 3 year, unlimited km warranty.
