HSV Colorado SportsCat V8: Australia's stillborn super-ute
5 Years Ago
The HSV Colorado SportsCat is a discontinued performance-tuned ute developed during HSV's final years after local Commodore production ended. Based on the Holden Colorado, it added tougher styling, suspension changes and a more assertive road presence while keeping diesel dual-cab practicality. It was not a V8 muscle ute in the traditional HSV mould, but it gave the brand a way to stay involved in Australia's ute market. The SportsCat is no longer sold new, and HSV itself has effectively given way to the General Motors Specialty Vehicles era. Existing examples appeal to buyers who want a rarer Colorado with factory-backed attitude and a clear link to HSV history.
