Imagine driving along the highway in peak-hour traffic and feeling a big jolt, only to look outside your vehicle and see you haven’t been hit by another car but rather by a plane.
This unlikely scenario is precisely what happened to a 57-year-old woman in the US state of Florida, whose Toyota Camry was struck from above by a plane making an emergency landing on Interstate 95 at 5:45pm on December 8, 2025.
Dash-cam footage captured by another driver, James Coffey, reveals the Beechcraft 95-C55 Baron plane making impact, with a wheel hitting it first before the rest of the aircraft landed atop the Camry.

The Camry driver in turn moves over to the left as the plane skids and does a complete 360.
The driver was taken to hospital with only minor injuries, while the 27-year-old male pilot and his 27-year-old passenger were uninjured. I-95 was briefly closed in both directions at the crash site.
According to television station WESH, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said the instructional flight had left Merritt Island before the plane lost power in both of its engines, necessitating the emergency landing.
An investigation has been opened and will look at the pilot’s licence and the maintenance records of the aircraft.
