The Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups have been recalled as key safety features may not work.
"Due to a manufacturing defect, the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) module may disable the Electronic Stability Control (ESC). If this occurs, the ESC may fail without warning resulting in a loss of vehicle control," reads the recall notice from American Special Vehicles, a partnership between importer Ateco Automotive and the Walkinshaw Group which remanufactures Ram vehicles in right-hand drive.
"This may also result in the seatbelt pre-tensioners and airbags not performing as intended in the event of an accident.
"A loss of vehicle control and/or airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners not deploying as intended in the event of an accident could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants."
