Mercedes-Benz Australia is recalling 183 examples of its AMG GT sports car due to a manufacturing defect that may cause the driveshaft to detach.

This recall affects AMG GT and GT S models produced from 2015 to 2017.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, the bonding between the driveshaft and the engine/transmission flange may not be secured as intended,” said the company in its recall notice.

“This could cause the connection to detach and result in a loss of vehicle power.”

If you own affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact your most convenient Mercedes-Benz dealer to have the work carried out as soon as possible.

If you have further questions you can call the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Centre on 1300 300 896.
