Red or Blue? Which side are you on?
A new feature-length documentary is set screen in Australian cinemas on October 19, detailing the decades-long rivalry between Holden and Ford.
Ford v Holden is narrated by Australian actor and comedian Shane Jacobson and was produced by Veronica Fury, who in 2020 received an Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards nomination for her feature Brock: Over the Top.
The documentary features interviews with industry experts, historians, broadcasters, as well as former employees of both Ford and Holden. It also includes rare archived footage and photographs.

It explores the design and engineering innovations that drove the companies’ success Down Under, as well as the marketing strategies and advertising campaigns that helped build their brand identities.
“This important essay film embodies the love affair Aussies have with their cars – and covers the fierce tribal rivalry between Fords and Holdens – you were either one or the other,” said Ms Fury.

The trailer for Ford v Holden is now live on YouTube. It hits Australian cinemas on October 19.
