Chinese brand Leapmotor has made its most aggressive play yet in the Australian new-car market, not only taking on the popular BYD Atto 2 but undercutting it on price – and releasing Australia's cheapest electric SUV in the process.

Due in showrooms from November 2026, the Leapmotor B03X is priced from $26,990 before on-road costs in Style guise, undercutting the Atto 2 Dynamic at $31,990 before on-roads.
For vehicles purchased and delivered between October 1 and December 31, 2026 and finished in the standard Acorn Brown paint, the B03X Style has a drive-away price of $29,990.
Leapmotor is also offering the Design Long Range for $33,990 drive-away until the end of the year. It carries a list price of $30,990 plus ORCs, which still undercuts the cheapest electric Atto 2.
