The Leapmotor B10 small electric SUV has gained the option of an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrain in Australia, and it’s priced identically to the existing pure-electric versions.

Leapmotor Australia's new B10 'Hybrid EV' – a name also now applied to the EREV version of the larger C10 mid-size electric SUV, replacing REEV – is priced at $37,888 before on-road costs in Style trim, rising to $40,888 before on-roads in Design guise. These are the same prices as the pure-electric Style and Design Long Range.

The first 500 orders are eligible for a ‘gift pack’ that includes three years of complimentary scheduled servicing, premium paint (valued at $990), a 7kW wallbox charger (valued at up to $800, with installation not included), and a vehicle-to-load (V2L) cable with a carry case.

To be eligible, you need to place an order prior to September 30, 2026, and take delivery before December 31, 2026. Government and rental buyers aren’t eligible.

The B10 Hybrid EV has an 18.8kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine, and an electric motor.

The petrol engine doesn’t power the wheels directly, and is instead used as a generator to produce electricity for recharging the battery.

The battery can also be recharged using AC power (at up to 6.6kW) and DC power (at up to 46kW).

There’s 84km of electric-only range on the WLTP cycle, with a total combined range of 900km and fuel consumption of 0.9L/100km. The B10 Hybrid EV has a 50-litre fuel tank and four selectable energy modes: EV+, EV, Fuel and Power+.

Unusually for this segment, the B10 Hybrid EV is rear-wheel drive like its bigger C10 brother. It also features multi-link rear suspension, which isn’t universal among small SUVs.

The B10 Hybrid EV is backed by a six-year, 150,000km vehicle warranty and an eight-year, 160,000km battery warranty, with eight years of roadside assistance and servicing required every 12 months or 20,000km.

The Style comes standard with the following equipment:

    • 18-inch alloy wheels
    • Automatic LED headlights
    • Fixed panoramic glass roof with power sunshade
    • 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster
    • 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system
    • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
    • Wireless phone charger
    • Climate control
    • Cloth upholstery
    • Surround-view camera
    • Integrated 360-degree dashcam recorder
    • Rear parking sensors

There’s also a suite of active safety and driver-assist functions under the LEAP Pilot label. The B10 also supports over-the-air software updates and offers a range of connected services.

    The Design adds:

    • Hankook iON evo tyres
    • Power tailgate
    • Power-folding exterior mirrors
    • Rain-sensing wipers
    • Rear privacy glass
    • TechnoLeather upholstery
    • 6-way power driver’s seat
    • 4-way power passenger seat
    • Heated and ventilated front seats
    • Heated steering wheel
    • 12-speaker sound system
    • Multi-colour ambient lighting
    • Rear centre armrest with cupholders

Leapmotor will offer the B10 Hybrid EV in the following exterior paint colours:

    • Light White
    • Galaxy Silver
    • Terra Grey
    • Starry Night Blue
    • Dawn Purple
    • Metallic Black

All B10 Hybrid EVs have a grey interior: either Light Grey or Shadow Grey in the Design, and simply Grey in the Style.

The B10 Hybrid EV is the only EREV in its segment in Australia, and one of just two on the market overall. Even small plug-in hybrid SUVs are rare, and predominantly offered by premium brands.

Deliveries of the electric B10 commenced late in 2025, with a choice of 52.2kWh and 67.1kWh LFP batteries and a 160kW/240Nm rear-mounted electric motor.

To the end of May, Leapmotor has delivered 285 examples of the B10 in Australia this year, making it less popular than the BYD Atto 2 (2919) and MG S5 EV (1427).
