The updated Mercedes-Benz GLB seven-seat SUV range is set to go on sale in Australia this week.

The starting price for the GLB range has risen by $5900. It now starts at $72,900 before on-roads for the front-wheel drive GLB 200, and extends to $102,900 before on-roads for the AMG GLB 35 4Matic.

As part of the update the entire Mercedes-Benz GLB range now comes with a 48V mild-hybrid system that includes a belt-driven starter generator, which is capable of providing an additional 10kW for shorter period of time. It’s also claimed to enable smoother engine stop-start and coasting with the engine switched off.

The facelift has also brought a redesigned front bumper, as well new full-LED headlights and tail lights.

Inside there’s the latest generation of the MBUX infotainment system which offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a more sophisticated voice assistant.

The core GLB models now receive an AMG Line exterior as standard, as well as a panoramic glass sunroof, 19-inch AMG five-spoke alloy wheels, heated front seats, electric front seats with memory, as well as metallic paint.

The flagship AMG GLB 35 4Matic also now receives the Night Package as standard, as well as the Driving Assistance Package, and a Burmester surround-sound system.

Until the end of November Mercedes-Benz has sold a total of 719 GLBs. It’s unique in its segment being the only seven-seater.
