Interested in a Genesis G80?
Let us help you take the next step

Genesis has simplified the local G80 line-up for 2023, while also making some detail changes.

The base 2.5T can no longer be specified with a Sport Line Package, leaving only the choice of a Luxury Package or a Luxury & Sport Line Package.

It does now, however, come standard with the upgraded brake package previously found only on 3.5T and Sport variants. This includes larger front brake rotors with four-piston monobloc calipers embossed with the Genesis wordmark, plus larger ventilated rear rotors.

The 3.5T now comes with the previously optional Luxury Package as standard, while the Sport Package is optional. That means you can no longer get a ‘standard’ 3.5T, nor can you get the Sport Package goodies without getting all the Luxury Package kit as well.

The Electrified G80 also gains an Ergo Motion 18-way power-adjustable front passenger seat with massaging, as well as a wireless phone charger for the back seat, aligning it with petrol-powered G80s with the Luxury Package.

All models get a raised rotary dial for the infotainment system, replacing the previous concave unit. This change was previously introduced on the related GV80 crossover.

Finally, all models get a colour-coded rear brake caliper cover with the Genesis wordmark, matching the brakes up front.

Compared with 2022 models, pricing is up by $2000 on the Electrified G80 and $2009 on the 2.5T.

The mandating of the Luxury Package on the 3.5T also sees its price increase by $15,009 compared with the ‘standard’ 2022 3.5T, although like-for-like the price increase is only $2009.

  • 2023 Genesis G80 2.5T RWD: $87,200
  • 2023 Genesis G80 3.5T AWD: $116,200
  • 2023 Genesis Electrified G80: $147,000

All prices exclude on-road costs.

The 2.5T is available with a Luxury Package for $13,000 and combined Sport Line + Luxury Packages for $19,000.

The 3.5T is available with a Sport Package for $6000.

The Genesis G80 is available with a choice of three powertrains.

The 2.5T uses a turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 224kW of power and 422Nm of torque, mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It’s rear-wheel drive and has a claimed 0-100km/h time of 6.0 seconds.

The 3.5T uses a twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 engine with 279kW and 530Nm. It’s mated with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, and has a claimed 0-100km/h time of 5.1 seconds.

The Electrified G80 uses a dual-motor all-wheel drive electric powertrain with total system outputs of 272kW and 700Nm. It has a claimed 0-100km/h time of 4.9 seconds.

The 2023 Genesis G80 uses 8.6L/100km on the combined cycle in 2.5T guise, and 10.7L/100km in the 3.5T.

The Electrified G80 uses an 87.2kWh battery and has a claimed WLTP driving range of 520km. Its driving efficiency is a claimed 19.1kWh/100km.

Petrol-powered 2023 Genesis G80 models measure 4995mm long, 1925mm wide (excluding exterior mirrors) and 1465mm tall on a 3010mm wheelbase.

The Electrified G80 is slightly longer (5005mm) and taller (1475mm).

Boot space is 424L in petrol models and 354L in the Electrified G80. Petrol models have a space-saver spare, while the EV has only a tyre repair kit.

Servicing and Warranty

The Genesis G80 is backed by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, with the Electrified G80’s battery backed by an eight-year warranty.

There are five years of free servicing, and a Genesis representative will come and pick up your car and leave you with a loaner vehicle provided you live within 70km driving distance from the Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane CBDs.

There’s also 10 years of free roadside assist and satellite navigation map updates, and buyers of Genesis Electrified products also get the choice of a five-year subscription to the Chargefox network, or a complementary home AC charger including installation.

While four-cylinder Genesis G80 models wear a five-star ANCAP safety rating based on Euro NCAP testing, other variants remain unrated.

The petrol-powered G80 scored 91 per cent for adult occupant protection, 86 per cent for the protection of child occupants, 77 per cent for vulnerable road users and 80 per cent for safety assist.
