Toyota RAV4, Camry added to ongoing safety certification scandal

The Toyota Prius V is a wagon-like seven-seat extension of the Prius hybrid family. It is no longer on sale as a new model in Australia, but it filled a useful niche for buyers wanting hybrid efficiency with more passenger and luggage flexibility than the regular Prius. The Prius V was never sporty or luxurious, yet it offered low fuel use, Toyota reliability and a surprisingly practical cabin for families, taxis and rideshare operators. Its compact people-mover layout made it easier to live with in the city than larger seven-seat SUVs. As Toyota expanded hybrid availability across SUVs and sedans, the Prius V's role faded, but its efficiency-first concept remains relevant.
