    About the Land Rover Defender

W S purchased this Land Rover Defender used for $137,500 (including all on-road costs) in 2021. W S would buy this car again because: “Fantastic capable four-wheel drive with a beautiful engine, air suspension is very usable. I have recently learned the vehicle is one of the safest in the world currently, which is a small bonus. Plenty of promo gear offered by the dealer.”

How reliable has your car been? Tell us about any issues.

Hasn’t missed a beat. Remote start works every time through the phone app on a Samsung. The global window open using the key fob is great but the global close function does not work, not sure on the fix for this.

What do you think of the ownership experience with your car?

I certainly could of had a better dealer experience, I bought the car from Queensland over the phone from a Land Rover Dealer in the ACT.

I have been on the phone with Land Rover Brisbane and purchased rubber mats, sports pedals and a cargo barrier.

It was a much better experience in Queensland.

Are you happy with the price and features of your car?

Camera features are second to none. Suspension is great and the engine is one of the best I have owned. The vehicle is higher priced than many other capable four-wheel drives but in my opinion, worth it.

Maybe the F-Type needs to be added to the garage.

What do you think of the performance and economy of your car?

I don’t think performance and economy should be rated under the same heading. Economy is 4/10, performance is 9/10.

Its a big heavy truck and six seconds to 100km/h is very impressive, the gearbox appears to put up with a lot as well

What do you think of the technology in your car?

Second to none safety features, and cameras. Buying a used car meant I was unable to run right though the options list.

I certainly would have added wireless charging and a few other tech items. Radar cruise and the safety braking are great as well.

What do you think of the ride comfort and handling of your car?

For a big car the ride and body roll are great. I came out of a Ford Raptor so the Fox Shocks were great. Off road and driving like a hooligan the Ford suspension is better but on-road handling and the air bag set up certainly don’t go unnoticed.
