    About the Holden Captiva

Cam T purchased this Holden Captiva used for $13,865 (including all on-road costs) in 2018. Cam T would buy this car again because: “It has been a wonderful car. Yes, there are a lot out there that are terrible but mine has been brilliant only costing normal service costs. It tows well, drives well off-road, never missed a beat. Never thought I’d like an SUV but I love this one.”

How reliable has your car been? Tell us about any issues.

I have no issues in the four years I’ve owned her. Yes some of the service costs are pricey but if you stay on top of everything and fix anything that comes up ASAP then you won’t have any issues.

They are a car that has some quirky characteristics (some would call them electrical gremlins), but I just see them as her charm.

What do you think of the ownership experience with your car?

It has been the best car I’ve owned, never let me down. I love the AC in summer and the heating in winter takes no time at all. Its diesel so big fuel tank and soaks up the kilometres, it’s happiest when on the open road.

Are you happy with the price and features of your car?

Absolutely. I have had to upgrade the headlights to LED only because I drive in the country at night but otherwise it’s been great. It has a good enough stereo which could have been better, but for a stock family car it’s great.

Has loads of boot space for shopping, camping, and anything you need to carry.

What do you think of the performance and economy of your car?

Performance and economy was okay when I got it, but with today’s fuel prices and the roads I drive it needs a little more of a run up to overtake, especially with the AC on.

I have managed to do an economy test and got it down to 9.8L per kilometre on average, will be getting it tuned in the coming weeks.

What do you think of the technology in your car?

The technology is on par with what I need. It’s nowhere near the latest tech but its enough I’m still old-school and use CDs or the AUX cord, so it has that in droves which is great. Love the heating and cooling, it works in seconds.

What do you think of the ride comfort and handling of your car?

Comfort is quite good ride. I think it needs to be a little higher so plan on lifting it up two inches it does bounce on big bumps but never loses composure. It handles corners quite well at legal speed limits so never had an issue.

Do you have any additional comments about your car?

Headlights fade really quickly so they are a constant fix but once done you should get five years before you need to do them again.
