A potential customer of a brand new Toyota Supra totalled the $55,000USD sports car while on test drive with a salesman in Long Island, NY. Thankfully both occupants survived the crash, however the salesman needed to be cut from the vehicle by the Garden City Fire Department using the “jaws of life”.
Details surrounding the crash are currently scarce, however it would appear speed was a factor, given the extent of the damage and that the roads were dry at the time of the incident. Thankfully the airbags all deployed and both occupants are reported to be in a stable condition with minor injuries.
Due to the short wheelbase, the A90 Supra has a tendency to be somewhat unforgiving to an inexperienced driver, especially with traction control disabled. Neither the GCFD nor NYPD have released a statement detailing the accident at this stage.
This amazing footage shows you what a red Toyota Supra should look like while it’s in one piece:
Sadly this is not the first incident of a Supra meeting its demise with a tree. Only a few months ago, this silver Launch Edition Supra collided with a tree while the occupants were tuning the vehicle with a laptop. During video posted on the owner’s Facebook, the driver floors the throttle, sending the Supra’s rear end into a slide, aiming the noise straight at a tree.

Both collisions appear to be heavy impacts, but once again, thankfully the airbags deployed and the occupants escaped alive, although the passenger is said to have suffered some serious injuries.
