Mitsubishi Pajero

The Mitsubishi Pajero is a large off-road SUV with one of Australia’s most recognisable 4WD nameplates. After a five-year hiatus since the fourth-generation Pajero was discontinued in 2021, the fifth generation arrived in Australian in December 2026. Like its predecessors, the new Pajero is a strong option for families, tourers and regional buyers who want a rugged wagon with genuine all-terrain ability. The Pajero’s appeal centres on long-distance comfort, a practical five/seven-seat cabin, diesel touring range and the confidence to tackle dirt roads, towing duties and remote-area travel. Mitsubishi has confirmed the Pajero name will return as part of a broader off-road SUV family, led by a new flagship model and joined by smaller RAV4-sized and Jimny-sized Pajero off-roaders. For now, the new Pajero will be diesel-only and priced closer to the Toyota Prado than the Ford Everest and Isuzu MU-X.
