Mercedes-Benz is recalling three of its smallest models – the A-Class, CLA and GLB – as an issue with their fuel feed hose could ignite a fire.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, the fuel feed hose may become chafed and could cause a fuel leak in the engine compartment,” the company says in its recall notice.

“This may result in a vehicle fire.

“A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road users or bystanders.”

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to contact a Mercedes-Benz dealership to have the issue fixed, free of charge.

If you have any further questions, you can contact the company’s customer assistance centre on 1300 300 896.
