The Ram 1500 pickup range carries more expensive pricing into 2023, and the range of newer DT-series models has expanded as the older DS-series models are phased out.

UPDATE, 23/08/2023Ram Trucks Australia has introduced a new base model DT-series 1500, the Big Horn, as the old DS-series models enter run-out.

UPDATE, 17/07/2023 – Ram Trucks Australia has introduced the 1500 Laramie Sport that slots in between the 1500 Laramie and 1500 Limited. The company has also upped the pricing of the 1500 Limited and 1500 TRX by $3000 and $5000 respectively for the 2023 model year.

The Ram 1500 range starts at $98,950 before on-road costs for the Express Crew Cab, and extends to $224,950 before on-roads for the fire-breathing TRX.

Of the older DS-series models, the former entry-level Express Quad Cab was discontinued earlier this year while only limited dealer stock remains of the Warlock Crew Cab.

The DT-series 1500 Laramie is currently unavailable with the optional Safety Pack due to semiconductor shortages.

This means safety features including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, semi-autonomous park assist, surround-view camera, and adaptive cruise control are only available on the 1500 Limited and TRX.

Electric side steps are also now standard on the 1500 Laramie.

The flagship TRX has a panoramic sunroof as standard. It was previously an option.

The entire Ram 1500 range is remanufactured from left- to right-hand drive locally in Melbourne, Victoria. The company recently celebrated converting 20,000 Ram 1500 and 2500 models.

The Ram 1500 goes head-to-head with the Chevrolet Silverado, but will soon go up against the Ford F-150 which is set to arrive in the third quarter of this year.

It’ll also go up against the Toyota Tundra, which has yet to be officially confirmed for Australia but is looking more likely for a 2024 launch.
